Combatives Training
Street Combat Fridays is focused on how to visit a high crime area and reduce the chance of being a victim. The instructor for this grew up in Hell's Kitchen NYC during the high crime era. The aim of this class is to provide streetwise tips for both adults and teenagers on how to detect an assault beforehand and deal with the problem if avoidance is not possible. This is an excellent class for those who grew up in the suburbs and want to gain skills on how to navigate an urban setting. The training consists of dealing with close combat incidents (CCI) for unarmed civilians, primarily focusing on threat detection and avoidance, de-escalation, and hand-to-hand combat in restrictive spaces based on 'Urban Combatives' and 'The Maul' principles. It emphasizes practical applications in real-world scenarios and understanding the criminal mindset. Combatives training aims to enhance student courage, confidence, and situational awareness, as well as their ability to react effectively under pressure/chaos.
